Veronica Bloomfield

Veronica Bloomfield is the founder of Overcomers United, an incorporated non-profit, working with economically deprived people to help realize big entrepreneurial dreams and build capacity in our communities. The organization also seeks to collaborate with and donate to individuals, groups or organizations around wide-ranging needs, as resources permit. Veronica started the organization in 2019 as a tribute to her late mother, Ilene Bloomfield, with the help of family, friends and members of the community.  Overcomers United is run solely by volunteers.

Prior to starting Overcomers United, Veronica held a variety of positions in administration across different entities and spanning diverse sectors such as insurance, business, charities, non-profits and all levels of government. She is passionate about volunteering in the community, a role that she has undertaken throughout her life – her personal motto is “people helping people leads to success for all.” She currently volunteers at the University Health Network (UHN) as a Patient Partner, and come tax season, you can find her running a tax clinic and helping with income tax preparation through the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). Her vision for Overcomers United is to empower economically challenged individuals to produce items from which they generate income, improve the quality of their lives, the environment and the lives of those in our communities.

  1. I am blessed and inspired by Veronica’s work and her quest to help others overcome adversity. I wanted to share a short testimony of how we are over-comers through our faith in God.

Life’s challenges are inevitable, but as Christians, we find strength and hope in our faith. After 10 years, my partner and I split up, leaving me as a single mother of two. There were times when I struggled to make ends meet and wondered how I would take care of them alone. During those tough times, I had to rely on God’s strength, remembering 2 Corinthians 12:9: “God’s power is perfected in our weakness.”

One day, when I desperately needed groceries, I refused to ask anyone for help and instead prayed, “I trust you, God. You are my provider—please send help.” Just three hours later, my pastor arrived with bags of food, including treats for my children. God provided through my church family, who also supported me with transportation and clothes. Galatians 6:2 urges us to carry each other’s burdens, a calling I experienced firsthand. I kept my eyes on Jesus, even in the storm, knowing He is my source of peace and strength (Matthew 14:29-30).

Don’t fear trials; they build character and hope (Romans 5:3-4). Embrace the growth that comes from challenges, knowing that Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33). Our ultimate victory is secure in Him.

In summary, face adversity with faith—lean on God, trust His timing, support one another, and focus on Jesus. Every challenge shapes us and leads us to victory in Christ.
