Position: Director of Operations – Volunteer – Part-time
Overcomers United is hiring a Director of Operations, for a volunteer, part-time position, who will report to the Founder and CEO, and who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization, and works collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team to achieve the organization’s goals and objectives.
The candidate is expected to work remotely.
Overcomers United is a grassroots not-for-profit incorporated organization run solely by volunteers. Overcomers United aims to empower and support individuals experiencing difficult circumstances to achieve sustainable livelihoods through their entrepreneurial aspirations and goals, whether those center on being self-employed, bringing a business idea to life, opening an artist’s studio, or making and selling hand-crafted products, amongst other entrepreneurial pursuits. In supporting such entrepreneurial ventures, Overcomers United aims to impact an individual, their family and the larger community, as well as ensure that the projects supported are environmentally sustainable.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish a team, cultivate and implement a coaching culture, provide opportunities for development and ensure high performance
- Collaborate with leadership team to develop and implement plans to support various areas of organizational development
- Develop and build relationships with key stakeholders within, and external to the organization
- Manage all external relationships with vendors and contractors that affect operation
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- At least 6 months recruiting experience or 2 years general HR experience is preferred
- Working knowledge of provincial legislation as it relates to recruiting
- Comfortable with ambiguity, has initiative to identify what is required and implement solutions with minimal guidance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good administrative skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to change
- Highly computer literate with capability of using email, MS Office and related business and communication tools
- Excellent organizational, time management, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience in a non-profit organization is preferred
- Own the growth and success of Overcomers United
Schedule and Commitment:
All Volunteers work as their personal schedules allow. We ask for a minimum commitment of two (2) hours per week with a minimum of one (1) year commitment.
