Overcomers United (OU) is an emerging nationally incorporated not-profit organization in Canada. Our motto is “people helping people leads to success”.
We aim to positively build community capacity, nurture entrepreneurship, champion, empower and support individuals experiencing difficult circumstances and obstacles to overcome challenges due to being economically deprived achieve sustainable livelihoods through their entrepreneurial aspirations and goals.
In supporting such entrepreneurial ventures, OU aims to impact the individual, their family which will foster and strengthen bonds within the community while ensuring that projects that are supported are environmentally sustainable – benefiting all. Our outcome will be transforming entrepreneurs from being job seekers to job creators.
How do we get there? What we offer and plan to offer
We will offer:
- Provide access and referral to community programs.
- Offer resources that will assist entrepreneurs on their journey.
- Hold a monthly Mentor Circle for Entrepreneurs on the first Thursday of every month – there is an opportunity to voice wins, challenges and brainstorming. The community listens, learns and support each other.
- Have quarterly Entrepreneurs events (Q & A sessions) with business mentors and coaches events held on the (third Tuesday of the quarter).
- Host a year-round Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP) Clinic.
We hope to also grant micro / grants or loans when resources are available; celebrating and honouring the generations of Overcomers that came before us. The program would be launched and managed on our website – honouring the unsung heroes by showcasing and celebrating stories of hope and inspiration across the generations. Events, activity and support circles would further connect overcomers across the generations.

- Creating Fundraising events within your work, community, friends and family to support Overcomers United life changing work.
